ANNUAL REPORT OF ACTIVITIES OF STATE RESOURCE CENTRE FOR WOMEN (SRCW) FOR THE FINANCIAL YEAR 2014 – 15

ACTIVITIES

• Resource Person on an Awareness Programme for Adolescents on Health, Nutrition and Life Skills, organized by State Resource Centre for Women in collaboration with Urban ICDS Project, Social Welfare Department, held on 26th April, 2014 at Wahingdoh Community Hall.
• Resource Person on an Awareness Programme for Women on Empowerment and Violence Against Women, organized by State Resource Centre for Women  in collaboration with Mylliem ICDS Project, Social Welfare Department, held on 29th April, 2014 at Aganwadi Centre, Baniun, Mylliem ICDS Project.
• Resource Person on an IEC Programme  organised by Mawphlang ICDS Project In Collaboration With State Resource Centre For Women, Shillong on the 28th May, 2014, at Wahrhaw Village.
• Resource Person on an IEC Programme  Organised by Mawphlang Icds In Collaboration With State Resource Centre For Women (SRCW), Shillong Held On The 30th May 2014, At Lyngkhoi Village.
• Resource Person on an Inter – Departmental Programme on IEC with ICDS Mawphlang at Thainthynroh on 12th June, 2014.
• Attended a training on Gender Main – Streaming on 26 – 27 June, 2014 at Guwahati.
• Participated in the social assistance for the widows, infirm and the disabled held on the 18th July, 2014.
• Resource Person on an Awareness programme on Breast feeding, immunization and Women Health held on 8th August, 2014 at Jaiaw Langsning Community Hall.
• On 25th August 2014 visited Grace Drop – in Centre run by Reach Ministry , a Christain based organization. This drop in centre is mainly for the women with difficulties. Most of the clients who visit the centres are mostly Female Sex Worker (FSW). This centre at present provides only counseling to the clients. We are in a process to collaborate with them in conducting various activities.
• Resource Person on an Awareness Programme on Women Issues, RTI Act 2005 & Legal Aid held on 12th September, 2014.
• Participated in the India International Trade Fare at New Delhi from the 14th – 27th November, 2014 where 16 entrepreneurs participated in the programme.
• Resource Person on Observation of World Disability Day – “Theme: Disability – Inclusive Sustainable Development Goals” on the 3rd December, 2014 at Community Hall Mairang Mission organized by WSSS & AFSDI in collaboration with SSA Mairang BRC & SRC, Dept of Social Welfare Centre, Shillong.
• Seminar cum workshop on issues of Women & Child Development on the 20th – 22nd January, 2015 & launch of Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao scheme by Hon’ble Prime Minister on the 22nd January, 2015 at Panipat Haryana.
• Resource Person on an Awareness Programme on Drugs, Alchohol & Early marriage organized by Mission Field Committee, Jingiaseng Samla War Sepngi Presbyterian District, Sohkha at Iew Bakur, Dawki on the 23rd January, 2015.
• Resource Person on an Awareness programme on occasion of National Girl Child Day in collaboration with ICDS held in Nongkhroh, Jaintia Hills on the 29th January, 2015.
• Attended a Programme on concluding events of Special Outreach Programme 2014 – 15 on themes (PMJDY), Swatch Bharat Abhiyan & Beti Bachoa Beti Padhao on the 26th February, 2015 held at PCI Conference Hall, Lower Lachumiere, Shillong organized by the Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Regional Office (Meghalaya, Mizoram & Tripura) Shillong.
• Resource person on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao on the 29th February, 2015 at Regional Office MMT Margret Syiem Building, Nongthymmai, Shillong.
• Attended State Level Workshop on POCSO Act & RTE Act organized by the Meghalaya State Commission for Protection of Child Rights in collaboration with National Commission  for Protection of Child Rights on the 28th February, 2015 held at Yojna Bhawan, Shillong.
• Resource person on the Programme organized by North East Network on the 5th March, 2015 on the theme “Developing a Health Response to Violence Against Women” at Jowai.
• Resource person on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao on the 18th March, 2015 called by Doordarshan Kendra Shillong.
• Resource person on “Neighbourhood Youth Parliament Discussion” organized by Nongkrem Youth Development Association on the topic Role of women and Youth in the village Community on 24th March 2015.
